About

Royal Mile is a warehouse pickup, not a cafe. Jamie roasts out of a Cherry Hill, New Jersey light-industrial space with strong Philadelphia branding, and the operation runs on mail order, wholesale, and Philly-area customers driving over the bridge to pick up cases. The setup at the warehouse is bare-bones. Park next to the door, walk to a half-door or plexiglass window, get your beans, leave. one customer found the warehouse vibe off-putting at first and warmed up after being greeted professionally at the window. There's no seating, no in-house drinks, no pretense that this is anything other than what it is, which is a roasting business that lets you skip the shipping fee if you're local.

The roasts lean dark and medium. Espresso Jawn and Darkness Monster are the two names to know on the bean side, and the Jawn suffix tells you where the marketing is aimed. Cold Brew Jawn sits on the ready-to-drink shelf. Dallas Still Sucks, the canned cold brew, sits next to it, and the name does enough of the work that no further description is needed. The Philly identity runs through the branding and the artwork on the bags and the cans, and the customer base reflects it. People from Cherry Hill and across the bridge in South Philly drive in for the bag pickup because that's their neighborhood roaster, even if the actual roasting happens in Jersey.

Recent reviews flag a real problem with the mail-order side. One customer waited twelve days for shipping. Emails about the delay went unanswered. If that pattern holds, it's worth knowing before placing an online order, especially if you need beans by a specific date or you're ordering for a gift. The pickup customers don't run into this issue, since they're walking out the door with their bags, but the online channel is a different experience entirely.

Good for Philly-area drinkers who want a local dark or medium roast they can pick up themselves and skip the shipping wait, and for mail-order buyers willing to absorb slower fulfillment for the branding and the beans. Wrong stop for cafe sit-down visitors and anyone who needs responsive customer service when something goes sideways with an order.
