Pumpkin spice is back, but Philly’s small cafes are doing more than that this fall: maple, caramel apple, apple chai, and even a pumpernickel cortado. Here are nine independent spots with a fall drink on the menu right now.

01 · Fishtown (also Manayunk)
A local roaster with a full 2026 fall specialty latte menu, plus a separate fall cold brew list.

02 · Society Hill (multiple locations)
House-made pumpkin syrup with Vermont maple. Billy Penn called it on the sweeter side, in a good way.
03 · Spruce Hill, West Philly
A well-spiced PSL, and they also sell spiced coffee grounds with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves to brew at home.
04 · Cedar Park, West Philly
From the team behind Cleo Bagels: a house syrup of molasses, cocoa, coffee and toasted caraway. No pumpkin, and not too sweet.

05 · South Philly
The least sweet, most spice-forward PSL in Billy Penn’s roundup. Expect a line for the pastries.
06 · Point Breeze
An all-vegan bakery and cafe where oat milk is the default. For Halloween, there is also a Witch’s Brew with apple and cinnamon.

07 · Pennsport
A vegan coffeehouse open since 2010, with house-made pumpkin syrup, hot or iced.
08 · North Philly (also Rittenhouse)
A cafe that doubles as a plant and gift shop. Billy Penn said their PSL gets the sweet-to-spice balance right.
09 · Washington Square
A cafe and market with a whole fall lineup, including two apple drinks for people who are done with pumpkin.

This fall, Knockbox Cafe, Mighty Bread, The Ground, Batter & Crumbs, Valerio Coffee Roasters and Talula’s Daily all list a pumpkin spice drink, and Vibrant has a maple version. Grindcore House makes a pumpkin pie latte.
Yes. Try the pumpernickel cortado at Little Bean, the apple drinks at Talula’s Daily and Batter & Crumbs, or Valerio’s Apple Dumpling green tea latte.
Batter & Crumbs and Grindcore House are fully vegan. Elsewhere, ask for oat or another plant milk and check whether the syrup or foam contains dairy.
