About

There's a complication to flag up front. The Barre, Vermont cafe space that 802 Coffee Roasters used to operate has been turned over to Turning Point, a recovery center, as of mid-2025. The coffee brand is still alive and sold through the Burlington shop and direct delivery, but if you were planning to walk into the Barre storefront on Ayers Street, call first. Multiple recent sources confirmed the change.

The House Blend remains the flagship. The light roasts have at least one Vermonter calling them the best in the state, which is a real claim in a state that takes its coffee seriously. The whole bean light roast is what to order if you're brewing at home. The cappuccino is the in-cafe move when the Burlington location is the one you're visiting.

Local delivery comes free same-day for orders inside the Vermont service area, which is the structural advantage of buying from a roaster who knows the road network. The cafe was dog-friendly when it was open, and that culture has presumably moved to wherever 802 is currently pouring drinks.

What you get with 802 right now is a Vermont coffee brand operating in transition. The product is still good, the delivery is still fast, and the light roasts still have their defenders. The Barre walk-in option is the thing that's changed. Verify the storefront situation before you make the drive, and otherwise order beans and let them show up at your door.
