About

Aharon is usually behind the counter at the shop that bears his name. Beans from Yemen, from Ethiopia, from Colombia, lined up on a curated wall behind him. A mezuzah at the doorway. The setup says specialty beans first, drinks second, and the prices follow accordingly. Lattes run seven to seventeen dollars depending on what you order, which is Beverly Hills math but not unreasonable once you see the bean program.

The room is small, calm, with outdoor seating under an awning that becomes its own scene for people-watching on the Charleville Boulevard sidewalk. Inside is quiet enough to taste what you ordered. Outside is where conversations happen.

Service is where the reviews split, and they split sharply. Some people love Aharon, describe him as warm, the kind of owner who walks you through a single origin with real patience. Others have walked out put off by the same person, called him cold or rude. It seems to come down to who he is on a given morning, which is the risk of an owner-operated shop where the owner is the brand.

For the cup, get the vanilla latte and ask for the house syrup, which is the drink most regulars name first. A cortado here is a fair read on the roast. The Bali-Indonesia, Yemen, and Colombian beans are the ones to take home, and the wall display rotates with what has just arrived. The hazelnut coffee shows up in regular orders enough to mention. The ceremonial-grade iced matcha holds its own against the espresso program, which is more than most coffee shops can say about their tea side. Espresso straight if you want the cleanest read.

Food is vegan-friendly and gluten-free, with the vegan tuna sandwich and the hummus the most-cited orders. Plant-based eaters get a real menu, not a token.

This is a destination for bean buyers and serious espresso drinkers willing to pay for the geography. Seating is short, so plan to stand or sit outside. If a moody host is a deal-breaker, go somewhere else. If the coffee is the point, Aharon is putting in the work to justify the trip.
