You can ride a bike up the outside of the building that houses Airship Coffee at The Ledger. That's not a metaphor. The Ledger is a coworking-style office building in downtown Bentonville with a bike path that climbs the exterior to the top, and the coffee counter sits inside, functioning more like a coworking lobby than a standalone cafe.
The space splits opinion. One customer called it an uncomfortable corporate environment. Another called the vibe chill and fun. Both are honest reads, depending on what you walked in wanting. If you wanted a normal independent cafe, the office-lobby format will land wrong. If you wanted to combine the rooftop bike with a coffee, it lands fine. The seating is a small number of high-top backless stools, so settling in for a long sit is not the move and not the intended use.
The coffee is locally roasted Airship, which is the strongest thing on the menu and the reason the counter exists at all. The vanilla latte is the most-ordered drink. Smoothies and scones round out the menu without trying to be more than they are.
A few things to know before you go that matter. Wi-Fi is free for one hour and then forty dollars a day, which makes this the wrong place to plan a workday around if you're not already a member of The Ledger. Parking requires a walk from the public library, so build that into the trip. The shop is cash-free. Bring a card.
The fit is members and guests of The Ledger, and bike riders who want to combine the rooftop bike path with a coffee before or after. Not a fit for remote work, not a fit for anyone hoping for a normal cafe experience, and not a fit for the cash-only crowd. Inside the narrow use case it's built for, it works.
