Aroma Ridge does not do walk-in. The Marietta operation is a mail-order roaster first, roasting to order and dropping the bag with UPS the same day in one-pound packages. If you want a Peaberry from Kenya or Cameroon, or a Hawaiian Maui Yellow Caturra, this is the kind of place that keeps that on a list and roasts it when you click. Jamaica Blue Mountain shows up here too, for the people who care about that and are willing to pay for it.
The core of the lineup leans single origin. Cameroon Boyo, both regular and Peaberry. Kenya, regular and Peaberry. Baba's Choices for a house-style cup. The flavored side is where things get a little carnival: Highlander Grogg, Wicked Jack's Tavern Ol'Butter Rum, a Hammered Elves eggnog that at least one customer felt missed the mark on flavor intensity. If you live and die by deep, syrupy flavored coffees, the line is broad but uneven. Wicked Jack's gets the warmest mentions of the flavored set.
There is a free-shipping threshold if you stack the order high enough, which is how the math works on Peaberry and Hawaiian beans that are not cheap to begin with. Sign up for a couple of pounds at a time and the cost-per-cup becomes reasonable for what you are getting. Roast-to-order matters here. You are not pulling a bag off a shelf that was filled three weeks ago.
The fit is straightforward. Home brewers, especially the ones drawn to Peaberry lots and less common origins, who want their beans roasted the day they ship. Anyone hoping to walk in for a cup will not find a counter set up for that, and anyone leaning hard on flavored coffees should sample before committing to a five-pound run.
