Bean & Bean Queens — Roastery & Cafe

Bean & Bean's Queens roastery and café is in Little Neck/Douglaston. It's a modern industrial space with floor-to-ceiling windows. The roasting happens on-site behind an open partition, so you can watch, and Q Graders oversee it. Their site says it's women-powered coffee, chosen by a mother-daughter Q Grader team that's been serving New Yorkers since 2008.

The direct-trade coffees rotate. Pour-overs and espresso are well made, the honey latte is a local favorite, and there's a Japanese matcha latte. For food, there are several avocado toasts, sandwiches and fresh pastries.

There are high communal tables and individual workstations, plus free wifi and lots of outlets, so students and remote workers use it a lot. It gets crowded at peak times. You can buy beans and brewing gear like Chemex and V60. There's a private lot behind the building.
