Beanetics Coffee Roasters

Walk in and the roaster is right there. Beanetics is tucked into a Columbia Pike strip mall in Annandale, with the roasting machine visible just inside the door and white buckets of labeled beans on display. The owner roasts. The wife works the floor. A rewards program runs for the regular base, and the EV charging station sits in the lot out back.

The bean lineup is the program. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Bali Blue Moon. Peruvian. Guatemalan. All named single-origin specialty beans, all roasted in-house, all sold in pound bags pricier than chain bags but with a story behind each. The shop also sells Aeropress and espresso makers for home, with rotating seasonal and monthly drink specials.

Standing drink orders. Iced mocha with oatmilk. Lavender latte. Cappuccino with coffee crumb sprinkled on top. Cold brew. Pour-over (multiple options on a given day). The blueberry muffin handles the breakfast pairing.

The room is built for work. Solid tables. Good light. The roaster a few feet from where you order, which gives the place its identity. Seating is limited. No real outside seating either. Twice-a-week study regulars have become part of the customer fabric.

One real friction point made it into recent feedback. The owner reportedly turned off the lights three minutes after close, with customers still inside. Strip mall location means the room isn't going to wow on first impression. The wow is the roaster and the bean wall.

Annandale regulars studying or working multiple days a week. Home brewers shopping for beans and gear. Small wholesale buyers (Kema by Kenaki is a named customer). The pricier bags are the trade-off for in-house roasting with named origin, and the bean buyers know it.
