The Pistachio Best Drink Ever is the order people come back for. It is also, by chain-coffee standards, a surprisingly specific signature, and Better Buzz Fullerton (the Southern California chain's outpost on South Harbor) leans into it hard. Customers used to driving down to San Diego for the original locations were openly happy a closer one finally landed. Now they show up early. They stay late. The shop opens before sunrise and runs well into the evening, which is what makes it a default study spot for CSUF students with outlets and outdoor seating to spread out on.
The staff get repeat mentions as a breath of fresh air from other chains. The drive-thru moves. The menu rewards people who know what to ask for. The Pistachio (or its cinnamon-pistachio variant) is the headline. The matcha latte takes a chai add-in well. Off the food menu, the Banana Crunch bowl, the better breakfast sandwich, and the avocado toast all get named in regular rotation, which is more food specificity than most chain coffee shops can muster.
The trade-offs are honest. The music gets cranked. One customer flat-out called it WAY TOO LOUD and distracting, and if you need a quiet room to take a call, this is not the room. Wifi is unreliable enough to bring a hotspot. And the parking situation in the Harbor lot gets called horrendous, which lines up with anyone who has tried to find a space at peak hours.
Come for a drink and a long session and you will find a seat. Come for the deep-focus, headphones-on kind of work and you will be fighting the room. Most of the regulars are in the first camp, which explains why the shop fills up the way it does. The drive-thru is the right call for anyone who is not staying.
