Around fifteen varieties on the shelf at any given time. That's the pitch at Black Powder Coffee in Mooresville, and it's the right one. The shop runs as a roaster for people who brew at home, not a place to settle in for the afternoon. You walk in, you talk beans, you leave with something to grind.
The Obsidian blend and the One-Eyed Jack blend are the house anchors. For single-origin work, the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe at a light-to-medium roast is the one to pick up. The flavored side leans hard: banana nut, pecan pie, cinnamon roll, apple cinnamon French toast. The apple cinnamon French toast is the standout in that lineup if you're going to commit to a flavored bag.
This is not a cafe. The retail area is small, no laptop or WiFi setup to speak of, and the shop is closed Mondays. Plan around that. Bring your French press question, get an honest answer, walk out with whole beans roasted close enough to the door that you can taste the difference next morning. That's the deal here, and the people who keep coming back already know it.
