About

Blue Sparrow's Sherman St room looks like Mexico City. Or Bogota, depending on which regular you ask. The Denver shop sits in a bright modern space full of greenery, coffee table books, and golden-accented seating, with upholstered chairs, booths, large tables, and leather couches that fill in the rest of the layout. People talk about the design and the coffee in the same sentence, which is the right ratio for a shop where both are doing real work. Nitro coffee and the oat vanilla latte are the orders that come up most often in regulars' lists by name. Espresso for people who want to know what the bar can do without the milk and the syrup in the way. Locally made pastries handle the food side, and the staff knows the program well enough to talk through it without showboating or condescending. Coffee-themed retail rounds out the front of the shop for people who want to take part of the aesthetic home with them. The room is built for work in a way most aesthetically-driven cafes aren't. Free fast WiFi. Plenty of outlets. Plenty of seating most of the time, until the weekend brunch crowd shows up. Outdoor seating for fair weather and the Denver afternoons that justify it. Parking is street only and fills up at peak hours, which is the one logistical catch in a neighborhood that doesn't have a lot of alternatives within an easy walk. The real flag is price. Flavored lattes with alt milk run steep, and the pastries do too, and customers say so in writeups without much hedging. If you're budget-conscious, the basic drinks are the move and the pastries are the skip. The design is doing real work on the brand. The bar is doing real work on the cup. The price tag is doing real work on the receipt. Best for Denver coffee drinkers and remote workers who want a beautiful work-friendly room with a serious coffee program. Less of a fit if every dollar matters at checkout, and worth scouting for parking on a busy weekend morning before you commit to the trip.
