About

First-class airplane seats face window 'portals' inside Boarding Pass, an airline-themed roastery in downtown Alpharetta. Suitcases, pilot manuals, and other repurposed travel pieces fill the space. Murilo grew up on a Brazilian coffee family farm before he and Christine opened the shop. He built the menu around international single origins from many countries. Customers get a passport to track which roasts they've tried.

On the first Friday of each month a local realtor named Kelly buys coffee for everyone until around nine-thirty in the morning. That's the kind of detail a chain can't fake.

The room is small and dim by some accounts, less ideal for groups of more than four. One customer specifically wished for bigger tables, which is a fair note. For long laptop sessions, this isn't the spot. For a guided tasting of single origins with Murilo or a barista walking you through, the format is built for exactly that. Owner-led coffee tasting tours are part of the regular programming.

Order the macchiato Italian-style, or a medium roast pour over to taste the work. The lavender and rose iced latte and the iced mocha latte are the popular flavor moves. On the food side, the Brazilian cheesy bread (pao de queijo) is the right order to anchor a Brazilian-family-farm story. The cinnamon croissant with cinnamon butter and the Greek spinach and feta pastry round out the case.

In-house roasting on site means the bag you take home was likely pulled out of the drum that week. The passport system rewards return visits with a clear progress marker, which has turned the shop into a kind of slow-motion travel log for regulars. Coffee tourists, home brewers stocking up on origin variety, and anyone who finds the airplane-cabin gimmick more endearing than annoying will find this an unusually deliberate stop for the metro Atlanta suburbs.
