About

The pink espresso machine is the visual signature. Broadcast Coffee occupies a downtown Boise plaza facing Cherie-Buckner-Webb Park, and the room has the kind of light-filled, plant-heavy character that registers before you've ordered. Big windows. Outdoor swings at the park edge. Mellow 70s and 80s music inside that holds the vibe steady through the morning and afternoon. The parking lot is easy to miss, which is part of the reason regulars feel like they have the place to themselves on weekday mornings. The Flapjack latte tastes like pancakes, per the regular who keeps ordering it. The Caramello latte is the steadier sweet option. The cappuccino and cortado are the careful espresso picks for people who want their coffee to taste like coffee. Iced coffee and canned cold brew are reliable. The egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwich with hashbrown does real work in the morning and is the right pairing for anyone planning to settle in. Drinks come out in bowl-shaped porcelain mugs for the eight and twelve ounce sizes, which is the kind of small detail that earns repeat customers and that tells you what the bar cares about. The wifi works. The outlets are plentiful. There's room to spread out for a workday, and the room makes that bias plain in the layout. The cafe is a real laptop option rather than a forced fit, and the people who use it that way show up the same days every week. One honest flag worth raising. Dogs aren't welcome inside the cafe, which a few dog-owning regulars have noted as the one limitation. The outdoor swings at the park's edge are a fair workaround in good weather, and the park itself does most of the rest of the heavy lifting on the dog-owning question. The park-side outdoor sitters and the indoor laptop crowd both end up here for slightly different reasons, and both sets of regulars walk out happy. The pink machine carries the room's identity well.
