About

Bugle Call is veteran-owned. Helen and Jack have been running it out of Quinton, Virginia since 2019, and they sell beans, K-cups, and wholesale to shops and offices. The Quinton location is a roastery, not a cafe. One customer made the point directly: you can sample coffee there, but the appeal is the smell of the roastery, beans ground to order, and a chat with the owners. The Richmond Mornings blend is the public face of the lineup, with the wholesale partner Perk! featuring it on drip from launch. Morning Formation runs as a cold brew base at partner shops, which is the second name worth knowing. The custom-illustrated bags get called out as often as the coffee inside them, which speaks to how much care the brand puts into the visual side. Espresso machine sales come with in-house setup and a tutorial, which is the kind of thing a corporate brand will not offer and a small roastery does because it is the difference between a sale and a repeat customer. Wholesale buyers and offices form most of the volume. Bean buyers who want to meet the people who roasted their coffee form most of the foot traffic. Fellow veterans and veteran-owned businesses make up the third piece, and that community connection shows up in the way Helen and Jack handle the door. None of those buyers come for a latte and a seat. If you do, you are at the wrong door. If you come for the bag, the conversation, the smell of the roastery on a Tuesday morning, and the espresso machine you want set up properly the first time, Bugle Call delivers all of it. The Richmond Mornings is the entry order. Ground-to-order is the upgrade. The K-cup format is the workaround for offices wanting Bugle Call coffee without the brewing infrastructure, and the wholesale program is how shops outside Quinton find the beans on their menus. Helen and Jack are the names to know.
