Cafe Moto

Cafe Moto in Barrio Logan has been roasting since 1990 and calls itself San Diego's first coffee roaster. It's solar powered and sells kosher, fair trade and organic coffee, tea and cocoa. The roastery is visible, and the café is walk-up and drive-thru, with yellow chairs, flowers and umbrella tables outside. There's a restroom.

The cold brew is smooth, and the espresso is well balanced. The retail area in back has lots of beans, labeled with origin and roast dates, whole or ground. They ship nationwide, and plenty of Southern California shops serve their coffee.
