City Roast sits inside the West 25th Street market complex in Cleveland, close enough to the West Side Market that the foot traffic does most of the marketing. The shop is a stop on a market walk more often than a destination of its own, which shapes both the appeal and the limits. The room reads as a small counter inside the larger market building, with a great market-day environment when the surrounding stalls are in full swing.

The drink list covers the expected ground. Cappuccinos and lattes anchor the menu, with a brown-sugar cappuccino and a banana latte that customers single out by name. Mochas and drip round out the order options. None of this is reinventing specialty coffee, and the shop doesn't seem to be trying to.
