Coffee Culture Roastery on Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights is open mornings only and closes at 11, so come early. It's small and spotless, a counter-only shop for grab-and-go. Mr. G is usually there to walk you through the beans. There's street parking and a small lot in back.

They roast in-house. The black, unsweetened cold brew is what they're known for. The cappuccino's good, and the scones are a morning staple. Most people leave with a bag of beans.
