Coffee Republic Metro Center is on 13th Street NW, right by the Metro Center entrance, and it's open past 5 p.m. The room's clean and lively, with some quieter seating that works for an hour at a laptop. Regulars know Miguel, Pooh and Daijah behind the bar.

The Sugar Daddy is the signature coffee. The Salty Dog, Citizen Turk and Aztec mocha all have fans, and there's a cortado and an oat chai latte if you want something simpler. Grab a red velvet cookie, or get the Citizen Turk sandwich for lunch.
