Common Grounds

Common Grounds is an independent roaster and coffee house across from the town green in downtown Branford. It's cozy, with wooden tables, armchairs and nooks, plus seasonal seats on the sidewalk and in a quiet back courtyard. Parking can be tight at busy times.

They roast daily on-site on a 6-foot-tall roaster. The Swiss Water decaf is a favorite, and the mocha is made with dark chocolate. The baristas remember regulars' orders. The coffee cake has a big following. Beans are sold by the pound in the shop, and there are flavored coffees online.
