About

Condaxis has been roasting on West Beaver Street in Jacksonville for long enough that the supply lines run through most of the top restaurants in town. Across from the farmers market, the shop roasts multiple times per week and keeps a wholesale list that's longer than the retail one. Pete is the former owner. Sherry is part of current management. The transition has not slowed the roast schedule.

The distinctive move is on the flavored side. Chocolate Macadamia, Creme Brulee, Jamaican Me Crazy, and Blueberry Scone are the bags customers reach for, and the reason they keep reaching for them is that the flavors don't carry the chemical aftertaste that plagues most flavored coffee. The restraint matters. Drinkers who write off flavored coffee on principle often change their minds once they try one of these.

For straight coffee, the house blend and the Costa Rican single origin are the moves. The Blueberry Scone or Jamaican Me Crazy pulled as cold brew is the move if you want the flavored line in summer form. The retail boxes travel well as gifts, which is a quiet feature that turns into a loud one around the holidays.

This is a roastery first, with the cafe-style storefront experience secondary. The reason to come is the bag, not the seat. For Jacksonville locals supporting a multi-decade operation, the loyalty is earned. For gift buyers in town who want something local that doesn't feel like an airport magnet, the boxes are a real option. The restaurant pedigree is the proof of work. The flavored coffees without the fake aftertaste are the reason to come back.
