Cooper River Coffee Roasters is in a small Mt Pleasant shopping center, so look closely for the door. The owner roasts in-house, knows regulars by name and plays his own playlists. It's small and quiet, with fast wifi and working outlets, and it's calm on weekday mornings.

The Americano is the one to try first. Regulars also order the dirty chai, vanilla oat latte and cold brew with a splash of almond milk. You can buy ground beans for pour-over, and there are dog treats in two sizes at the counter.
