About

Beans get roasted on Slaterville Road every day, then go out to coffee houses around the Ithaca region or get packed for subscription customers across the country. Copper Horse is Jesse's family-run roastery. The subscription notes are hand-written. The roastery pops up at festivals around Western and Central New York through the season, which is where many subscribers first picked up a bag. There is no sit-down cafe at this address. The bean list is where the work shows. Ethiopian for the floral side. Pink Bourbon for the customers who want something specific. Sumatran for the dark and earthy drinkers. Guatemalan as a balanced daily. Warhorse and Carriage House are the two house blends, and the names show up across the regional cafes that pour Copper Horse coffee. Regional pour-over enthusiasts drive out for fresh bags. Subscribers wait for the next box and the next note. If you wanted a cafe morning in Ithaca, choose one of the cafes that pours Copper Horse and ask them which roast they have on. If you wanted to stop at the roastery itself, buy beans by the pound, and ask the family about the roast date, the Slaterville Road address is the one to drive to. The Pink Bourbon is the bag to start with if you have not tried one before. The Warhorse blend is the bag to take home for the daily pot.
