🔥 Roasts In-House Has Café

About

Under one roof in Clarksboro you get house-roasted coffee, craft beer, coffee flights, and beers themed after breakfast cereal. The cafe side and the brewery side share staff and space, and the combination works better than it should on paper.

The cafe is modest with a pleasant aroma and an intimate setting. The bar side runs lively. Super-comfy couches anchor one corner, the beer garden setup handles overflow, and the overall feel is chill and welcoming. Live entertainment runs nightly, so the evening crowd looks different from the morning regulars.

For coffee, the cinnamon bun latte and the iced Reese's Peanut Butter Latte are the popular calls. A banana Nutella coffee flight lets you taste through several preparations at once. A matcha latte with honey and lavender covers the non-coffee drinkers. On the beer side, the Blueberry Muffin and Strawberry Wheat are the cereal-themed standouts, and a beer flight is the right move for first-timers.

The crossover crowd here is wider than most cafes. Oat milk drinkers, work-from-cafe customers, families with kids, large birthday parties, the live-entertainment audience at night. Birthday parties require a form filled out in advance, which is part of why the owner has been compared (in one less-than-flattering review) to Lord Voldemort over strict policies around outside beverages and group bookings. Take the strictness as a known feature, not a surprise.

A couple of other honest notes. With one barista working, service can run 20 to 30 minutes, especially when the cafe and bar are both filling. And $16.45 for two coffees has been called steep by more than one customer. Neither of those things is the operation's fault on a busy night, but they're worth knowing before you walk in expecting a quick stop. For everyone else, the cafe and brewery combination, the cereal beers, and the nightly live entertainment make this an unusual little corner of South Jersey.
