Fante's Coffeehouse is in a converted house overlooking Cherokee Park in Louisville. Owner Leo Fante, who used to work with John Conti, roasts in-house where you can see it. The house has several rooms: tables by the windows with golf course views, sofas, a quiet study room and a patio. There's good wifi and lots of outlets.

The Highland Grogg blend is the one people talk about. The dirty chai is popular, and the seasonal campfire mocha comes with torched marshmallows. They serve beer, wine, breakfast and lunch too. The house-baked pastries and cheddar bacon scones are favorites.

You can buy beans by the bag, and the owner has arranged shipping for out-of-town customers. There's a daily happy hour from 4 to 6 and a monthly Cars & Coffee meetup.
