The space leans hard into the lodge concept: cabin furniture, comfortable seating, a menu posted up high so you look up to read it. Inside it feels like a cabin you want to stay in. Wifi works for a cup-and-laptop session, though the signal weakens once you step outside to the patio. The drink reaches are an Americano, a signature iced latte, and the on-site roasted beans which you can take home if you do not want to operate the roaster yourself. Food is the part that surprises people. The Timberman breakfast sandwich is the order regulars repeat without thinking. The 3 Pigs sandwich is the bigger, denser one for the appetites that did not get served by the Timberman, and the scones with moose cream are exactly as Idaho as they sound. Drive-thru access exists but is awkward, tucked off a busy turn that takes some figuring out the first time you try it. Park and walk in if you are not in a hurry, because the lodge is the point of the visit and the drive-thru misses the room entirely. Travelers passing through, remote workers wanting an unusual room to work from, home roasters curious about doing their own batch: all three find what they came for here. It is hard to think of another shop in the country that lets you roast a pound of your own coffee while you eat a scone with moose cream in a cabin off the main street. That sentence alone explains the drive into Bonners Ferry. The lodge furniture earns its keep through a long afternoon, and the on-site roast keeps the bag in your suitcase fresher than anything you could mail home.
