About

Call ahead. Multiple recent visitors have found the shop closed during posted hours, and the Forged Coffee Roasting brand may have ended at this location in late 2025 or early 2026. That uncertainty is the first thing to know if you are planning a deliberate trip to The Jesse hotel in downtown Reno for a cup. The signs are not yet definitive, but the pattern is clear enough that anyone driving across town should phone before showing up.

When it is open, the room is worth the visit. Bright, comfortable space inside the hotel building, fresh flowers on the tables, and handmade ceramic cups from Turkey for the drinks rather than the standard ceramic-supplier mug. Entry is through a gated parking lot rather than the locked main-street doors, which is the kind of operational quirk a regular learns and a tourist gets caught by. The forged-knife aesthetic is built into the brand identity, and the room carries it without overdoing it. Knives, fire, and steel without the cosplay.

The food and drink program reaches outside for the right partners. Pies come from Sugar Pie. Daily pastries come from Beloved. Dog-friendly inside. On-site parking through the gated lot. The Easyrider specialty coffee is the named coffee order, the oat milk latte is the reliable everyday pour, and a slice of Sugar Pie pairs with either one as a small extravagance that the regulars consistently call out.

This worked best as a hotel guest's morning option or a Reno local's afternoon study session with pie. The combination of pie, a hot oat milk latte, and a calm hotel room is specific and good. Right now, with hours inconsistent and the brand future unclear, anyone making a deliberate trip should phone first rather than gamble on the gated parking lot. A closed shop is a wasted drive. If the place is alive on the day you call, the visit is still worth making, and the slice of Sugar Pie is the order to anchor it around.
