Cash does not work at Froth. Card only, and the drive-thru moves fast because of it. The Phoenix shop runs a small batch of local-only specialty drinks that justify the trip on their own, and the no-cash policy is the only piece of friction in an otherwise smooth operation.
The Cactus Sap latte is the signature. There is a cereal milk syrup drink that sounds like a stunt and tastes like a real idea. Order one of those, depending on which direction you want to go. The seasonal lattes rotate with enough creativity that the chalkboard is worth reading before you order.
The room is bright. Playful without being precious, which is a harder line to walk than it sounds. A shaded patio fills up with laptop workers most weekday mornings, roomy enough that you can settle in for hours. Outlets are accessible. Wifi works. The vibe inside skews upbeat without pushing the volume into a register that interrupts focus.
For food, the Late for Work breakfast sandwich does what its name promises. The Silver Burrito is the heartier option for when one sandwich will not do it, and Gator Toast is the avocado-toast variant the regulars order. Pastries come from local bakeries, which keeps the case rotating with whoever has fresh inventory that morning.
This works for three uses, and most regulars run all three at different times. Drive-thru on the commute. Patio for remote work. Walk-in for the unusual flavor combos when you want to taste what the kitchen is doing that week. The breakfast sandwich program is solid enough to make any of those three a full meal.
The no-cash policy is the one thing to have ready before you pull in. Have your card out. Pick the drink off the seasonal board. Go. The line through the drive-thru moves accordingly.
