About

Goldberry Roasting Company is the kind of place where you can watch your beans get weighed before they hit the pour-over cone. The Ashland, Ohio roaster runs a sleek, minimalist build-out with the roaster visible from the counter, a drive-thru for the people who can't sit, and an event space in back that books bridal showers for 30 to 60 people. Long tables. Natural light flooding through everything. The room is intentional from the ground up.

It divides opinion. One regular calls it almost clinical. Another calls it like a free university, which is closer to how most weekday mornings feel, with quiet readers and remote workers spread out across the tables not bothering each other. It's spacious. If you came here looking for a warm hangout with worn couches and string lights, the white-on-white aesthetic will read cold, and some people don't last more than one visit.

Order the pour-over in a twelve or sixteen ounce pour, ground to the cup. The quad-shot oat milk latte is the bigger drink for the bigger morning. Apple cider chai shows up in the fall and earns its place. Food comes from local sources, including salads built from Wooster produce and maple syrup on the maple-bacon scone, which is the pastry the regulars reach for. House-made flavored syrups push the menu beyond the usual third-wave purism.

This works as a remote-work base, a quiet read spot, or a venue for a small private event in the side room. It doesn't work as a place to spend three hours sinking into a couch with a friend, because the seating wasn't designed for sinking. Goldberry knows what it is, and the people who go regularly know what they're getting. The drive-thru handles the rush. The dining room handles the focus. The event space handles the bridal shower your cousin is throwing in October. All three run at the same time without interfering with each other, which is the part most cafes can't pull off.
