Hatchet Coffee

Hatchet Coffee is a café and specialty roaster in Boone, in the High Country of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Their site says they're all about making specialty coffee accessible and approachable. The space has a farmhouse feel, with communal tables, window counter seats, outlets, reliable wifi and music at a comfortable level.

They roast on-site, from bright, fruity light roasts to medium blends. The Warm Hug, nitro coffee with chocolate milk, is the drink people talk about, and the seasonal specials are worth watching for. The avocado toast on thick-cut local bread is the food favorite.

You can buy beans in the shop or have them shipped, and plenty of out-of-state fans subscribe. They host pop-ups for local artisans and sell things like handmade jewelry and local honey.
