Highwire Coffee Roasters has shops in Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, Alameda and Walnut Creek. In Albany, the espresso stand is in an Airstream trailer at Flowerland Nursery on Solano Avenue, surrounded by plants. Its hours are separate from the nursery's. Seats are few, and parking on Solano is hard at peak times. Pastries come from local bakeries.

They roast for balance, mostly light to medium. Try a latte or cortado. The cinnamon sugar mocha muffin is a favorite, and there's an almond croissant. The Kashmiri tea with saffron and cardamom is a great non-coffee pick.
