About Java Kai Kapaa
Java Kai sits on Kapaʻa's main strip and roasts its coffee on-site, in a space behind the café. It's laid-back and beachy inside, with a few tables and a communal table, and there's a patio out front for watching the street.
The Mac Nut Latte and the Maui Mocha are the two drinks to know. They pour Kona and other Hawaiian coffees, and the Surfer Girl blend is a regular pick. Breakfast is a big part of the place too: bagel sandwiches (there's a Surfer Girl one of those as well), breakfast burritos, açaí bowls, and pastries like cinnamon rolls and a "death by chocolate" treat.
You can buy bags of their roasted beans, including single-origin Hawaiian coffees and house blends, and they'll ship them once you're home. Mornings get busy. There's free wifi with a 30-minute limit.
