Java Pura Coffee Roasters has roasted in Houston since 2008. It's in a business park on Gulfton Street, through a back door, with the roasting gear in view. There's no café. Richard, the owner, samples espresso and cold brew for people buying beans. They also cater events.
The Swiss water decaf is a favorite. Try the single-farm El Salvador. Cold brew is sold by the bottle.
