Len's Coffee is the kind of operation that lives in the gaps most American roasters skip past. Vietnamese-style roasts, liberica, Mr. Taggart's fire-roasted, a robusta-arabica market blend, plus green beans for home roasters who want to control the curve themselves. Len runs the shop out of Jerome Street in Medford, Massachusetts. The predecessor was Heirloom Coffee. The current lineup is wider than that name suggested.
The Vietnamese coffee side is the strongest selling point. Phin filters are stocked, the roasts are built for that brewing method, and if you've been chasing the right cup for a Phin setup at home and getting frustrated with what's on Amazon, this is the source. Liberica, the third-most-common coffee species and a rare find anywhere in the US, lands here too. The decaf line is stronger than most small roasters bother with.
Local customers can pick up orders in person, which beats waiting on shipping if you're near Medford. The honest caution. Multiple customers have reported unanswered calls and emails after order issues, which is the kind of friction that becomes a problem the moment something goes wrong. For straightforward orders, it works. For anyone who needs post-purchase support, set expectations accordingly. Home roasters, Phin drinkers, and anyone curious about liberica are the right audience for what Len carries.
