Little Roy Coffee Co.

Little Roy Coffee Co. is on Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush. Moe owns it and Pedro runs the bar. One longtime regular followed them here from Bed-Stuy. It's small, bright and laid-back, with soft music, and it works well for laptops or journaling. The same regulars come in most mornings.

The coffee's roasted in-house. The hazelnut iced latte is the favorite, and cold brew's a good call on hot days. The food goes further than most cafés: avocado toast with eggs, a real shakshuka, pumpkin bread, a tahini chocolate chip cookie and, when it's on, a croissant French toast special.

It's a daytime spot that closes fairly early, and there's no outdoor seating.
