Lucky Detroit Coffee Roasters has shops in Birmingham, Royal Oak, Corktown and Grosse Pointe. The Birmingham one is in a former barber shop on West Maple Road. It's dim and low-key, with comfortable seating and easy parking behind. Dogs are welcome inside. Drinks come in paper cups, and the wifi is limited.

They roast in-house and make their own syrups. Seasonal lattes include vanilla bourbon and pistachio, and the strawberry matcha is a favorite when it's back. Try a vanilla bean latte or a cortado with an almond croissant.
