Mellelo Coffee Roasters Lear Way

Mellelo Coffee Roasters is a Southern Oregon roaster that's been around since the 1990s. It started locally and has expanded as far as Bend. Their site says they now bake and roast everything in-house. The Lear Way café is roomy and comfortable, with a fireplace for winter, a patio with café tables for summer, and a back room with a conference table for meetings or study groups.

They specialize in smooth Italian-style roasts, and the dark Italian espresso is a favorite. The Dancing Elephant is the signature drink, like a coffee milkshake. Regulars suggest the 8 oz size. The Mexican Mocha uses their house-made Mexican chocolate powder.

There are fresh-baked pastries and sandwiches, and you can buy beans in the store.
