Moka Origins sits on a Bethany Turnpike property outside Honesdale in the Poconos, and the operation is doing two things at once: bean-to-bar chocolate manufacturing and coffee roasting, both in plain view through windows that look into the production rooms. The tours end with chocolate tastings, and Grace's recommendations are the ones that come up by name when people talk about which bars to take home. This is the rare destination where the coffee drink is in service of a larger outing. Order a mocha latte and you are tasting the chocolate program in the cup, which is the whole point of being here rather than at a coffee bar in town. The Irish cream latte is the other natural move. Plan it as a Poconos day-trip stop with chocolate as the headline, not a cafe visit with chocolate as a side note, and the visit makes sense from the moment you park. Day-trippers, chocolate fans, and anyone who likes walking the grounds with a drink in hand will get the whole experience: tour, tasting, latte, bars to take home, a walk on the property. The smell at the door is the first thing. The bars in the bag are the last. The rest of the cafe rituals you keep elsewhere, because that is not what this place is set up to do, and the team is clearly fine with that being the deal.
