Moravian Coffee

Moravian Coffee took over the Lighthouse space in Midlothian and rebuilt it into something with at least six distinct seating areas. Upstairs, downstairs, round tables, picnic benches, cafe tables, a small outdoor book library you can browse while waiting. Joel, Carson, and Trent own the place; Trey runs the floor as shop manager. They roast in house and run a drive-thru alongside the original cafe, which gives the operation three distinct customer formats running at once.

The coffee program runs serious. A Columbia Young Producers pour-over hits bergamot, strawberry yogurt, and red apple in a way that justifies the pour-over price. The Meadow Latte runs seasonally and gets the most repeat orders. A PH Latte handles the year-round signature slot. A London Fog and a vanilla latte cover the comfort lane. An espresso shake is the move on a hot afternoon. Hot chocolate handles the kid order. A monthly bean subscription ships the rotation home for customers who don't want to drive in weekly.

The upstairs is where the work happens. Students and remote workers fit naturally on that level, which historically has held its quiet across the lunch rush. The drive-thru handles people who don't have time to sit. Families with kids drift toward the outdoor book library between rounds, which is the kind of small touch that gets parents to choose this cafe over a closer one.

Two honest caveats. Parking is tight enough that finding a spot at peak times is its own small project. And some recent regulars have noticed the noise level creeping up, with rowdier customers turning what used to be a reliably quiet upstairs into a more variable experience. The fit is students, remote workers, families, drive-thru regulars, and home roast subscribers who want the bean subscription. The friction is the parking and the slowly-rising volume, both of which are manageable if you time your visit right.
