Northern Grounds

Northern Grounds has been on Sheridan Street in Ely since 2016, and it's a favorite stop for BWCA travelers and locals. It's in a historic building with exposed brick, tin ceilings, vintage DNR signs and local art. There are booths, couches and tables, free wifi, and an upstairs workspace you can reserve for a daily fee. The back has a wine and beer bar, and their site says it's the largest by-the-glass fine wine list north of the Twin Cities.

They roast on-site, and the nitro cold brew and lattes are popular. The scones and pistachio muffins are the baked goods to try, and there's food to eat in or take out.
