About

A short walk from West End Beach on Brighton Avenue, Offshore's Long Branch shop runs a modern, laidback room with cute decor and an outdoor terrace built for people-watching. The crowd shifts dramatically with the season. Summer brings beach-goers, brunch dates, and a parking-lot crunch that doesn't ease until September. Remote workers fill the indoor tables most other days, drawn by free wifi and a layout that tolerates a long stay.

The PB mocha latte is the signature drink. The Rose cacao seasonal drink is the one to try if it's on the board. Iced latte and matcha cover the everyday orders. On the food side, breakfast burritos anchor the morning. The steak burrito works for lunch. The crunchy wrap (ask for extra crisp, the regulars know) covers the in-between order. The brekkie bowl is the lighter morning option. Avocado toast does what avocado toast does. The chocolate muffin is the pastry to grab on the way out.

Music can run loud, which kills the option of a quiet phone call but works for the brunch energy. The terrace is the right call when the weather cooperates and the indoor seating is full of laptops. Beach proximity makes the cafe an obvious stop for a sandy hour between swims, and the room tolerates flip-flops and sandy feet better than most cafes nearby.

Two honest catches. Parking gets tight in summer to the point of being a real frustration, so leave a buffer. And service has been hit-or-miss, with some visits running smoothly and others slow enough to make you wonder if anyone is behind the bar. Off-season visits run smoother on both counts. Show up early for summer parking, order a PB mocha latte and a crunchy wrap with extra crisp, grab the terrace if you can, and watch the Brighton Avenue traffic for an hour. The location is the draw. The PB mocha is why you come back.
