Upslope Brewing is next door. That's the practical Boulder fact about OZO Coffee's Flatiron Court cafe and roastery: you can do a coffee and a beer walk on the same parking pass, which has become its own little office-park ritual. The cafe shares a building with the brewery in a south Boulder business complex, with an industrial-feel roasting lab visible from the cafe seating and two house espresso blends usually on bar.
The room is built for coworking. Loads of tables, not many plush chairs, quiet and casual energy. It fills up quickly with laptops, and the wifi handles the load. Easy parking, which sets it apart from the downtown Boulder cafes where you spend twenty minutes circling. The industrial-lab feel of the roasting space sets the tone, and the rotating single-origins on bar keep regulars paying attention to what's new.
Order the OZO House Special if you want the everyday flagship. Barry White is the named drink with a following. Mocha or iced mocha for the sweeter side. A latte on the rotating single origin is the move if you want to taste what's currently interesting in the roast room. The breakfast burrito is the morning food choice; sandwiches and more burritos cover the lunch side.
The trade-offs: not a cozy, plush-chair reading nook (this is office-park furniture for office-park energy), and not a low price point (Boulder coffee, Boulder prices). If you want a soft hangout, this won't deliver.
If you want all-day laptop space with strong wifi, a brewery walk next door, and rotating single origins from a roaster you can see through the glass, OZO's Flatiron is built for that customer. The setup rewards a routine. Get the OZO House Special at nine, work until two, walk over to Upslope when the day is done. That's the office-park version of a good Boulder coffee weekday, and it's why the regulars come back.
