PJ's Coffee of New Orleans at 12530 Fairwood Parkway in Bowie is Black-owned and brings a New Orleans feel, with jazz playing and NOLA-inspired décor. There are leather armchairs, café tables and outdoor seating, so it works for working or catching up. The owners are often around, and the staff learn regulars' names.

The lattes and cold brew are smooth. The beignets are made fresh all day and come covered in powdered sugar. The spinach and feta croissant is a good pick too.
