About

The courtyard out back is the reason to go. Umbrella'd tables, beautiful alcoves, a Magazine Street address that does most of the work. This PJ's Coffee is part of the larger New Orleans regional chain but has the feel of an original-style location, with multiple lounge-style rooms inside (cafe tables and couches) and the kind of spacious well-appointed setup that lets you settle in and not look at the clock for a while.

Order the Americano, the iced coffee, or the green tea mojito (which is the one to try if you've never had it). The coffee granita is the warm-weather pick, the New Orleans summer answer. The latte with unsweetened almond milk is the safe order for daily drinkers. Matcha and a clean cappuccino are both on the list, and the cappuccino in particular comes out cleanly.

The room runs cozy, calm, and a little upscale, but the prices stay below what the national chains charge for the same drinks. That's a fair piece of value to point at. One regular calls it a digital nomad haven, which is fair, because the room can hold a working day without making you feel rushed. The service stays smooth even when the room is busy, which is harder to pull off than the staff makes it look.

This suits remote workers, coffee meetings, and visitors who want to sit outside in the courtyard with a book or a notebook. Less of a fit for dog owners (no mentions in the customer notes) or anyone in a hurry on a busy morning. Get the Americano, find an alcove, watch Magazine Street do its thing through the front windows. The room is built for staying, and the courtyard makes the case clearly enough that you don't have to be sold on it. The latte with unsweetened almond milk is the order that the regulars keep coming back to, which says something about a PJ's cafe in 2026. The original-style feel of the room outlasts the chain's bigger and shinier locations.
