Porto Rico Importing Co. is an old-school roastery on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village. It's lined with bins and burlap sacks of beans. It's mostly retail, with a couple of benches by the door and drinks to go.

They roast on-site, with beans from Ethiopia, Indonesia, South America and more. The staff will help you choose, and they'll grind for you. Prices are reasonable. The cappuccinos and lattes are great. They ship nationwide.
