The Coconut Ube Latte is the signature, and ube isn't the only flavor on the menu people don't see anywhere else in town. Postern in Doraville is the local Asian-American roastery in metro Atlanta, and the menu reads accordingly: pandan, star anise, a Korean Palmer, a soy sauce caramel that sounds like a stunt and tastes like the team thought it through. The Samidori matcha is the order for matcha drinkers who've been disappointed elsewhere and are looking for somewhere to start trusting again.
The space is in a shopping complex with a large free parking lot, which sounds like a small thing until you've tried to find parking at every other roaster in metro Atlanta. Inside, the room is bright and modern with couches, tables, booths, and an outdoor patio fronted by a mural. Quiet in the morning. Busier on weekends, especially after church lets out. The surrounding shopping complex is calm enough that the whole stop feels lower-stakes than driving into the city for the same kind of coffee.
Food-wise, the bulgogi cheesesteak sandwich is the move and the order that turns into a conversation on the way home. Kimchi biscuits and avocado toast hold up at breakfast. The Egg Sando and the earl grey cookie are the orders to add on without thinking about it. The cappuccino and a straight ube latte are the most ordered drinks across the bar on a busy weekend.
Real remote-work setup. Stable wifi, outlets within reach, the free lot, a patio that works for half the year. Honest note on the coffee side that's worth flagging. The espresso can land on the sour side of the flavor spectrum, brighter and more acidic than the traditional chocolate-and-caramel profile most American shops aim for. People who want a traditional Italian-style espresso pull may find it not to their taste. People who came in for the flavored menu and the Asian-inspired drinks won't be ordering straight espresso in the first place, so it won't matter to them. Know which kind of customer you are before you order at the bar.
