Precipice Coffee

Precipice Coffee in Ellsworth, Maine describes itself as Maine's first and only zero-emissions coffee roaster. It roasts on a Bellwether electric roaster, which removes particulates and VOCs and cuts the carbon footprint of roasting by an average of 90%. The roaster and its cottage shop are solar powered.

All of its green beans are sustainably farmed and fairly traded. The shop serves fresh-baked goods (including pie), drip, cold brew, espresso and non-coffee drinks, along with a small pantry selection. Whole-bean and ground coffee is sold online, and wholesale is offered.
