About Propeller Coffee Co.
Propeller Coffee Co. is a Toronto roaster founded in 2013 by Losel Tethong and Geoff Polci. Tethong is a Navy veteran and former sustainability consultant, and he named the company after the propellers on the ships and planes of his early career. After scouting nearly 30 sites by foot and bike, he settled on a converted industrial building at 50 Wade Avenue in the Junction Triangle, near Lansdowne and Bloor.
Just three years after opening, Propeller was named Roast magazine's 2016 Micro Roaster of the Year, with judges citing its coffee, service, environmental sustainability and citizenship. It has since become a certified B Corp, and the roastery runs on Bullfrog Power renewable energy.
The roastery cafe is bright and spacious, an easy place to linger over an oat latte, and a short walk from the TTC. The space doubles as a popular event venue that has hosted hundreds of weddings. For US visitors, it's an easy stop on the west side of downtown Toronto.
