Protagonist Cafe

Protagonist Cafe is a community coffee shop in St. Louis's Soulard neighborhood, from the founders of Pieces: Board Game Bar and Restaurant. Its espresso and coffee beans are organic, fair trade certified and roasted in small batches.

All of its beans are roasted at its sister store, Antagonist Cafe, where customers can watch through a viewing window. Antagonist's bakery also makes the cafe's sweet and savory pastries. Offerings include an Ethiopian light roast, and coffee is sold online.
