About
About Redwood St. Roasters
Redwood St. Roasters is a family-run roastery and cafe in the village of Edgar in central Wisconsin. It opened in 2015 in a downtown building more than a century old that has served as a general store, meat market, video store and ice cream parlor. Three sisters (Amber Haemer, Krystle Guerrero and Jennifer Zaffke) and their husbands own and run it together.
Head roaster Francisco Guerrero grew up in Chile and worked in winemaking there. He says developing a coffee's flavors feels a lot like making wine. He started roasting in a tiny 15-by-6-foot room, and the whole family cupped each blend. Small-batch blends and a creamy nitro cold brew are the house favorites. A $250,000 state grant awarded in 2025 is paying for an expansion with new equipment.
The cafe at W. 109 Redwood St. is a real gathering spot, hosting chalk-art festivals, food truck nights and wine tastings. In summer, look for the family on Saturdays at the Wausau Farmers Market.
