Drinks come in one size only at the Chestnut Street Reveille, and it is a small. That is the first thing to know about the Marina location of this SF roaster, which serves pastries from Midwife bakery and runs a covered parklet outside that is the actual seating program. The indoor footprint is tight and minimalist, all concrete walls and photo-backdrop angles, with most of the real room outdoors under the canopy.

Lines start at the door on weekend mornings. The space is small enough that they have to, and the popularity of the breakfast burrito does not help. Service ranges friendly to brusque depending on who you get, which is worth bracing for if you want a warm welcome with your latte. The volume the shop pushes through that tiny indoor footprint shapes the customer-service tone, fairly or not.

The breakfast burrito with crispy tater tots is the food order. It is the menu item the Marina crowd shows up for. The almond croissant from Midwife is the pastry to grab. Iced dirty chai is the named drink, with the oat-milk latte and the oat-milk chai latte both reliable picks. Cappuccino if you want a smaller, more focused cup, which is functionally the only sizing option anyway. The Halloumi salad is the lighter midday move if a burrito is too much.

The one-size policy is the kind of stance that reads as quality control to some customers and price hostility to others. A $5+ small in a city where $5 used to get you a medium is the friction point, and the policy has not changed despite the complaints. The drinks are good. The size will keep being the conversation.

This is a Marina-locals spot, plus dog owners who want a parklet table and a good cup. Not the place for a large drink, sustained laptop work indoors, or a quiet interior corner; the parklet is where the experience lives, weather permitting. Show up early on weekend mornings before the line forms, get the burrito, take it outside, and the format works.
